The Karzy Mural
This Karzy Mural exists at the top of the stairs of a Bristol town-house. It
was created over the course of 18 months in 1996-1998 and used 12 square metres
of MDF board, over 200 countersunk screws, more wood-filler than you could
shake a piece of quarter-inch dowling at, a foray of fixtures and fittings, and
a couple of splashes of paint. It was one of ten regional winners in a
national competition for idiosyncratic interior decoration sponsored by Direct
Line Insurance, leading to the ultimate accolade of a colour feature in the
Sunday Mirror colour supplement.
